Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park & Roberts Regional Recreation Area

Largest remaining stand of coast redwoods in the East Bay

The slim, 150-foot trees you can see in these two regional parks are a generation removed from those that helped build the San Francisco Bay Area during and after the Gold Rush, but they represent the largest remaining stand of coast redwoods in the East Bay. Here you can play baseball and volleyball; and visit the Chabot Space & Science Center and wheelchair-accessible children's play area.

ACTIVITIES: Picnicking, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, kite flying, archery, camping, swimming in pool at Roberts (after Memorial and to Labor Day), baseball, volleyball, dog walking (on leash in developed areas; off leash under voice control elsewhere).

ACCESSIBLE FEATURES: Restrooms, picnic areas, playground, path from Canyon Meadow to Trail's End.

DOGS: Leashed in developed areas. Can be off-leash on most trails under voice control. $2 per dog. No fee charged for guide/service dogs. Fees are collected on weekends and major holidays April through October and only at the Redwood Gate entrance for Redwood Regional.
